Eucharistic Ministry Schedule Get Involved Altar Servers: These youth (age 10 and older, girls and boys) and adults assist the Priest and Deacons during all weekend Liturgies, on Holy Days, and at funerals. Training is required and provided. Coordinator: Carey Bliley | 282-4266 | cbliley@blileys.com Cathedral Altar Society: The Altar Society has as its responsibility the care and upkeep of the Cathedral Sanctuary and Sacristies. The range of duties include care for the Altar Linens, flower placement, polishing of candlesticks and brass, with the main goal of keeping the worship spaces places of reverence and beauty. Coordinator: Eric Distanislao | 264-9004 | erichdist@msn.com Children's Liturgy of the Word Leaders: These ministers prepare and lead the Children's Liturgy of the Word at the 9:00 a.m. Liturgies on most Sundays throughout the year. Training is required and provided by parishioner coordinator and Cathedral staff. Coordinator: Shelley Rosteck | 359-5651, ext. 102 | mrosteck@richmondcathedral.org Diocesan Special Liturgies and Events at the Cathedral: The Cathedral, as the Mother Church of the Catholic Diocese of Richmond, is honored to host major Diocesan Liturgies and events. Many Cathedral volunteers are needed to assist in the preparation and execution of these magnificent Liturgies and events. Training is required and provided by parishioner coordinator and Cathedral staff. Coordinator: Eric Distanislao | 264-9004 | erichdist@msn.com Eucharistic Ministers to the Sick: These ministers bring Holy Communion to the sick, the hospitalized, and the homebound. These ministers are also Eucharistic Ministers at Cathedral Liturgies. Training is required and provided by parishioner coordinator(s) and Cathedral staff. Coordinator: Pat Wilhite | 266-8942 | pgwilhite@verizon.net Eucharistic Ministry Coordinators: These ministers assist in coordinating the Eucharistic Ministers and in setting up before Liturgy the accoutrements needed for the Communion Rite at one weekend Liturgy as scheduled. Training is required and provided by parishioner coordinator and Cathedral staff. Coordinator: Eric Distanislao | 264-9004 | erichdist@msn.com Lectors/Proclaimers of The Word: Through their proclamation, Lectors make Christ present to us in the Word of God. Discernment of the gift of proclamation and training are required and provided. Coordinator: Caroline Douglas | 282-2538 Nursery: The Cathedral nursery is open from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Sunday mornings. Children ages 15 months to 3 years are welcome. They are supervised by a trained nursery care provider and parent volunteers. The nursery is on the lower level and can be reached by way of the elevator.
